Ironworkers Festival
The International Ironworker Festival is an annual event held each summer Mackinaw City. It attracts Ironworkers from across the United States and Canada to compete in friendly competition. It is open to the General Public, although only Ironworkers and Retirees can compete in the skilled events. These events include knot tying, rod tying, rivet toss, spud throw, column climb (Field Event), and the World Championship Column Climb.

TRUE-BLUE WITH THE PERSEID METEOR SHOWERS: August is full of exciting astronomy, including the most prevalent meteor shower of the season, the Perseids, and this year's only Blue Moon. Perseids are expected to be favorable this year, given their proximity to New Moon.
